Formulation of finished product through the combination of various ingredients and the use of food processing equipment to produce safe food for sale.
Must constantly scrutinize “in process” product that they are formulating for any irregularities. Notification of irregularities to management must be immediate.
Each Salad Maker must utilize the manufacturing instructions on recipe to ensure that all ingredients are added in the proper proportions and in correct order.
Highlight any variations on the recipe & let Raw Material Warehouse Coordinator know of variations.
Salad Makers measure the temperature of the finished salad / cream cheese (USDA CCP 1) before dipping and note that temperature in the appropriate location on the “Product Formulation Forms A, B, C, E”. Alert management of any product or ingredient above 40 degrees F.
Must ensure that all vessels containing ingredients are completely covered and properly labeled with product ID and date.
Ability to read, write, comprehend English, follow recipes, and understand proportions.
Knowledge of different spices and proper amounts to use.
Ability to take temperatures and accurately document findings.
Ability to weigh and read a scale accurately.
Ability to perform and understand basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication) and use a calculator.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
This position works in a cold climate at about 34 to 38 degrees.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
The noise level can be moderate or loud according to different machines. Use PPE when necessary.
This position works around moving equipment.
Must be able to reach, stretch, push, pull, mix product, kneel, bend, use arms, hands, and ability to walk during daily routine.
Employee may stand for long periods of time.
