Job purpose:
Cleaning and sanitation of all food production areas and the equipment used in the production of food. Also, maintain a clean plant in all areas, including non-production areas as well.
Key responsibilities:
Cleaning of all food contact processing equipment, following established procedures.
Disassemble machines to clean and then re-assemble them for production.
Sanitizing of all food contact and pertinent non-food contact areas as well, making sure all sides (inside and out) are coated with sanitizer.
Cleaning of all non-foods contact production and non-production areas and equipment within and the exterior plant surroundings.
Clean overhead refrigeration units.
Daily floor scrubbing operation throughout the workday.
Constant maintenance of housekeeping throughout non-production areas in the plant.
Responsible for the replenishment of food safety / Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) articles such as gloves, soaps, sleeves, sanitizers to their respective areas throughout production daily.
Responsible for all waste removal from production and non-production areas. Dispose of waste into non-recyclable or recyclable Haul Away containers.
Accurately complete paperwork at the end of your shift and report to manager before you leave when you shift is over.
Must follow the lock out / tag out procedure.
Competencies:
Must be a detailed oriented person to give proper attention to detail while cleaning.
Ability to learn to disassemble and re-assemble machines.
Ability to learn cleaning chemicals, cleaning supplies and use.
Must be organized and can follow schedules and adapt to changing schedules or routines.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
The environment may be wet or dry.
This position works in a cold climate at about 34 to 38 degrees.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
The noise level is usually moderate. Use PPE when necessary.
This position works around moving equipment.
Must be able to reach, stretch, push, pull, kneel, bend, use arms, hands, and ability to walk during daily routine.
Employee may stand for long periods of time.
